Boston-qualifying 26.2-mile race on a USATF-certified course along a portion of America’s longest Main Street in Belleville, IL, near downtown St. Louis. The race offers an affordable registration fee, tremendous hometown course support from enthusiastic volunteers, and all the swag and amenities of a big city race but with small-town charm. This race is ideal for both newer and experienced runners.

MAY 26, 2020
An odd year calls for odd measures! Because of the many unknowns, now and 4 months from now (including our state’s reopening timeline and the uncertainty on what conducting a race might look like), and having our runners’ best interest at heart (that is, you train for 16-plus weeks, and possibly make travel arrangements, only to have the race cancelled after your 20-mile training run), we have made the difficult decision to replace the 5th Annual Belleville Main Street Marathon with a series of virtual events, our so-called Virus Variant Series.
All of the Virus Variant Series distances represent something related to the Belleville Main Street Marathon or what created this odd year—COVID-19 (including a 19K and 19 miler). The series will take place September 26 through October 4.
The choice is yours, what distance will you choose?
- 5-miler (to commemorate what would have been our 5th year!!!)
- 9.2 miles (the length of our beloved Belleville Main Street)
- 19K (or 11.8 miles) (so many have asked for a half marathon, and this is pretty darn close!!!)
- 19 miles (yep, let’s make “19” something great!!!)
- 26.2 miles (how could we not?!)
Registration will open in mid-June, and more details will be provided at that time.
We will miss your faces on race day but hope you send pics of your training and your victory run on our Facebook page so that we can encourage you, cheer you on, and celebrate with you!
Please stay tuned for more details and for the opening of registration in June, and we hope that together through the Virus Variant Series we can do something positive for all of us!
